There are 273 species of squirrels worldwide. Sixty-six squirrel species are native to North America. The Eastern Grey Squirrel inhabits two-thirds of the United States, and do not hibernate. The Red Squirrels are some of the noisiest and most active squirrels in the woods. Flying squirrels only feed at night.

DAMAGE AND CONCERNS

Squirrels eat grains from bird feeders, eat through gardens, and inhabit basements, attics, chimneys, and the walls of our homes.

CONTROL

Defend bird feeders with spray-on teflon, bury fences for gardens, and trap and eliminate squirrels from homes.
